Foreign nationals may enter the country through various land checkpoints, airports, and seaports all over the country. The most direct way to get to Malaysia is to fly commercial into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (IATA code: KUL) and then to Kuala Terengganu Airport (IATA code: TGG). KLIA is a well-connected airport servicing many major carriers from all over the world. However, only Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, Malindo Air and Firefly go to Kuala Terengganu Airort.
Although many nationalities are allowed to enter Malaysia for tourism purposes without a visa (for a limited period of time), some visitors are still required to apply for a visa upon arrival or from their home country. For more information, please contact the Malaysian embassy/consulate in your home country or visit the Malaysian Immigration Department website.
